His successes include the recent major victory in the New York Court of Appeals in the case of Douglas Elliman LLC v. Tretter, making precedent for the entire state on the issue of dual agency for New York real estate brokers.

Michael’s track record as an aggressive and effective advocate has enabled him to negotiate from a position of strength. Background & Education:

Michael S. Cole was a member of The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law’s first graduating class in 1979. Michael began his career as an attorney at the largest and most respected landlord and tenant litigation firm in New York. He then went on to become a founding member of the law firms Cascone Cole & Collyer, Cole Hansen Chester LLP, and Cole Chester LLP, where he broadened his practice to include international, corporate, commercial, construction and real estate litigation. Michael is a member of the bar of the State of New York, and is admitted to practice before the United State District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
